Burrowes Mansion Museum

Margaret Burrowes blocked the entryway to the (then) her home, falling victims to the British troops. Kingsland Manor

Nutley, New Jersey

Purchased in 1790, this property is strongly connected to the Revolutionary War.  In addition, it has relevance to the Underground Railroad, and hosts an underground “Indian-raid” cellar.  A tragic history from its barn that served as a speak-easy is said to be the source of the unforgiving haunts at the Kingsland Manor. Folks have experienced hearing disembodied voices and footsteps, commonly experienced in the barn and the museum rooms. Shadow figures have also been reported.  At one time, an apparition was discovered to be sitting at the edge of a bed.  There are multiple layers of spiritual dimensions in this property, for sure!

Angel of the Sea

Cape May, New Jersey

Angel of the Sea

There is no doubt that Cape May, New Jersey, is a metropolis for the haunted. Its speckled historic buildings that nudge against its shoreline is a retreat for the living, and the dead. The Angel of the Sea was built around 1850, as a summer cottage for William Weightman, Sr. He later up-rooted this mansion in 1881 because it needed to be near the sea. This property has seen many restorations, but nevertheless, its spirits still remain. Could one be that of a woman that plunged to her death in 1961 trying to go back from her top floor room after forgetting her keys?  You will experience the unexplainable flickering lights, disembodied footsteps, and objects moved around on their own.

Pine Barrens

Pemberton Township, New Jersey

Pine Barrens

The core of the spooks of the Pine Barrens lead to the New Jersey Devil. It started in 1735 when a woman gave birth to her 13th infant baby, who legend tells us, turned into a winged devil. For nearly 200 years, the creature supposedly roams this haunted forest with other creatures of the night. One of them is a spirit, known as James Still. He was an African American physician during the times of slavery. He was lynched as a verdict of practicing medicine. You will also see here a blonde woman, a white stag, a black dog and the headless spirit of a famous pirate, Captain Kidd.
