New Orleans, LA is home to one of the most haunted eateries in the nation, Arnaud's Restaurant. Come Explore its spooky menu and other offerings with Haunted Journeys.
Arnauld’s Restaurant was founded by a colorful French wine salesman named Arnaud Cazenave, Arnaud's recently celebrated 80 years of serving New Orleans families and visitors the finest cuisine in a classic atmosphere that speaks of Old World grandeur and a simpler time.
In fact, so publicly beloved is this NOLA establishment that many have simply decided to spend eternity there. One of the ghostly inhabitants, and certainly the most active, is the spirit of Count Arnaud himself. He is said to occasionally preside over the main dining room, dressed to the hilt in formal black tuxedo. Cazenave, whom most New Orleanians came to call Count Arnaud,, was said to be very particular for grand French influenced service. He most likely attempts to maintain these standards today, overseeing the staff and their actions. If silverware and napkins are not set to his liking staff says he has no qualms about moving them; If he does not like the set up at the bar, he will rearrange it until he does. Many agree that the Count lingers around, making sure that everything and everyone is being kept in proper order …. to his standards!
In addition, another spectral guest is a well-dressed woman who crosses the dining room and heads through a wall, in search of a now-walled-over staircase.
