Houghton Lake, MI is home to one of the most haunted places in the state, Clive & Dot's Anchor Inn. Come Explore its mystery with Haunted Journeys.
Clive & Dot's Anchor Inn is a 100-year-old family restaurant, lounge, and old hotel. An expert has proven two major geographical Ley lines intersect by the building. It is believed that during ancient times, these lay lines are the highways that go under the earth that expand the globe. They are said to connect every monument or structure or tragedy that has happened in history. It is believed, where two lines cross, there's a porthole to the other side. The Anchor Inn has two that cross, the Cat-China, and the First Nations. Could this explain the intensity of hauntings in this property?
This 100-year-old family restaurant, lounge and old hotel has been recording paranormal activity since the 1940s and 1950s. So intense are their hauntings that they have been featured in the Haunted Travels of Michigan: Spirits Rising book! They are a professional expedition favorite of many paranormal investigators as well, never disappointing!
Here expect to see full-body apparitions, shadow figures, intelligent orbs, miss, disembodied footsteps, and voices. Don't be started when door slam, facets turn on/off on their own, and being touched by "no one". Sometimes dishes, pots, and pans are flung in the kitchen and moved around. Incredibly, it will sound like someone is cooking up a storm in the kitchen, but not a LIVING soul is there. The owners feel that the female phantom that reigns the space is quite a lady. She is suspected to throw filled glasses from the table if there is no coaster underneath it. Maybe she is just trying to protect the wooden surface?
Their collection of photos, video, and audio evidence is the envy of any haunted property, but they display it with respect.
Most who visit & investigate get evidence or have experiences of the paranormal kind. This is absolutely a must-go-to spot when traveling up in Michigan!
