Sitting in the middle of Death Valley, in one of the harshest and most extreme environments on earth, stands one of the most haunted hotels in America, the Amargosa Opera House. It's name, on its own, sets the tone. Amargosa implies ""bitter"" in Spanish. The property constructed in the 1920's served as an opera house and hotel, built by the Pacific Borax Mining Company to accommodate its mine workers. Since the late 1960's, the house has been owned by Marta Becket, a free-spirited and very talented artist and dancer from New York that stumbled into the property and decided to restore life back into the run-downed opera house and inn.
Changing the direction of her life, Marta decided to restore life back into the decaying opera house and inn. Today, the Amargosa Opera House and Hotel in Death Valley Junction, still owned and operated by Marta, is haunted by the spirits of borax mining accidents, the bossman, and also features an infestation of activity in spooky hollow. Hotel is overrun by ghostly guests which is a problem for the manager who presented his fears of losing his business to investigators, including celebrity ghost hunters of Ghost Adventures and Dead Files. Research found the history of a former road agent turned janitor named Thomas Blower who hanged himself in the older part of the hotel known as """"Spooky Hollow"". It also revealed the story of a man who was found dead in the sewer plant across the street. Psychics have concluded the presence of sick borax who are still suffering from the eternal world. There is also a short heavy woman, called Shotgun Kitty, a brothel and bar owner who ran the town and doesn’t like how this place is being run.
