Beverly Hills CA is home to one of the most haunted places in the state, Beverly Hills Hotel. Come explore its mystery with Haunted Journeys.
The Beverly Hills Hotel opened in 1912, before the city existed. The original owner was Margaret Anderson and her motto was, "Guests are entitled to the best of everything regardless of cost!" The Polo Lounge was the preferred place to be for legendary stars and Hollywood deal-makers to be seen. It was established in the 1930s. The Sand and Pool Club opened in 1938, complete with sand to make it feel like a real beach club. The hotel was painted its distinctive pink back in 1948 to complement the sunset and it has been known as the 'Pink Palace' since then. The hotel closed for renovations in 1992, and officially became a Dorchester Collection hotel in 1995, it reopened in 1995.
Several people, including Harpo Marx, supposedly haunt the bungalows. Actor Peter Finch had a heart attack in the lobby and it's said that his spirit is still around. There is even a story about Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff still at this location.
