Harrison AR is home to one of the most haunted places in the state, Queen Ann House. Come explore its mystery with Haunted Journeys.
Constructed in 1893 by William Mark Duncan, who happened to be the son of a Pennsylvania Congressman. He was an accomplished businessman, owning banks and an electric company. He founded the bank of Harrison. He became most famous as a builder. He built this house, a prime example of the Queen Anne style, and he also built the Basin Park Hotel in Eureka Springs. It was sold in 1905 and became the parsonage for the Christian Church of Harrison. Several other families have lived in Queen Ann over the years.
In 1991 the home was sold to Don and Kathleen Young, the first to run the house as a bed and breakfast. In 1991 the owners added a solarium and a carriage house, and they were the first to open it as a bed & breakfast.
This property has a high volume of spectral activity. One of its unique supernatural happenings is an entity that actually appears frequently at dusk on the West Chimney. It has been caught on photograph by many. There are also reports of a feeling of someone standing beside you when there isn't. You may hear strange knockings and disembodied footsteps throughout the building that cannot be explained. Disembodied voices can be heard, while others experience objects moving on their own. Children can also be heard playing in the front yard. Once a heavy rocking chair in the turret room moved on its own. The experiences here are pretty frequent, sure not to disappoint.
