Mount Morris, NY is home to one of the most haunted places the world, Allegiance Bed & Breakfast Come explore its mystery with Haunted Journeys.
Reuben Wisner originally built the house in 1838, who was a local attorney, Union colonel, and a Baptist deacon. Originally constructed in a Federalist Revival style, later, it took a different style when new owners, the Prophets, updated the look. The front balcony and pillars were added to give it that miniaturized White House look.
This property served as a stop and an overflow house for the Underground Railroad. The name of the inn honors Francis Bellamy, a 'local son' who authored our Pledge of Allegiance.
Today, it is a magnificent inn that will take you to another world! The Allegiance is a beautifully restored mansion, tastefully decorated to reveal the grandeur of the Victorian era.
The inn's owners or staff have no reservation in sharing their stories, and even describing them by name. They provide the tours with the stories and even have documented a video of such.
One phantom that lurks the property is Karen. She is the alleged granddaughter of Reuben Wisner. She sits at the top of the stairs and has also been seen going up the steps in a long dress and straight gray hair. One report stated that she was seen sitting on a guest's bed while they were occupying it.
Another ghost, Ray, can be very chatty, so do expect to have a spectral conversation with him if you invite him to engage with you! Nevertheless, you could just sit back and watch the ghostly entertainment. For you see, both Karen and Ray have been seen and heard tossing objects back and forth to each other!
There is also a young girl that is often seen throughout the mansion. No one knows her name ... yet! And then there's Alice Montclair, has also been seen and spoke to a witness, eagerly telling them her name. You may even have the experience of having someone, that you did not invite, snuggling up in bed with you. There are a phantom dog and cat that has been lovingly called Sammy. Sammy has made himself at home in the guest rooms, once in a while seen on their beds.
Want to sleep in the most haunted room? The second floor is the most active. The owners recommend the Dansville room, as this seems to be the favorite lurking spot for their ghostly guests.
This property has been noted to be supernaturally impressive enough to have been featured on Paranormal State in one of their episodes.
