Avalon, CA is home to one of the most haunted places in the state, Banning House Lodge. Come Explore its mystery with Haunted Journeys.
This sleepy little inn near Two Harbors in the Golden State is a favorite haunted hotel stop for many jaunters. It is truly a rare gem, pretty unknown, which adds much appeal to it. Here you will not find televisions in the room, for all you need is took outside your window for your view ... a true delight in entertainment with its spectacular views. And let's not forget the ghostly entertainment!
Its history has many chapters of multi-purposing! Back in the day, it was used as a US Coast Guard barracks during WWII and even as a girl's camp in the 1950s. And then there is the celebrity haunt.
Yes, it does have a celebrity haunt! The untimely and still unresolved case of Natalie Wood happened near Santa Catalina Island. In addition, the Banning House Lodge has had reports of her spirit and that of a "White Lady" making their presence felt.
There is also the fisherman ghost. Many say they feel his presence and smelled the smoke and fish aroma that is associated with his haunting of the property. It is claimed he likes to hang around the employee bathroom and the kitchen.
