Salem, MA is home to one of the most haunted places in the state, Morning Glory Bed & Breakfast. Come Explore its mystery with Haunted Journeys.
Salem is famous for its infamous witch trials of the late 17th century, in where a group of young girls accused certain residents of the village of casting witchery spells on them. When this horror came to its end, 14 women and 5 men were hanged. One of the accused was older man named Giles Corey who was pressed to death by rocks for the sake of forcing a confession. A man of conviction, Corey's only last words were "More weight."
Could a historic inn amidst of such historic monstrosities contain its haunted energies? The Morning Glory Bed and Breakfast certainly has the elements of being legitimately haunted. The beautifully restored Georgian Federal home, dating back to 1808, sits right across to the historic (and notoriously haunted) Nathaniel Hawthorne's House of Seven Gables.
According to witnesses, the Morning Glory, has two ghosts that roam its spaces. A practicing medium, upon staying there, testified that the inn is haunted by the ghost of a teenage girl, usually adorned in turn of the century clothing. In addition, there are also the spirits of children also reside there, found continuing their playful activity.
