Attica is home to one of the most haunted places in Indiana, the Historic McDonald AirBnb. Come Explore its mystery with Haunted Journeys.

The History

This elegant and stately home was built in 1855 by James D. McDonald who was an influential member of the local government and a prominent businessman. In 2019 the home was renovated/restored after sitting abandoned for nearly 20 years. The home has a storied past with connections to the underground railroad. One of the former owners was found dead in one of the rooms of the house and his death was ruled a suicide, though his wife ardently denied that he killed himself until the day she died.

The Hauntings

We have had numerous paranormal investigative teams at the house since we opened in February of 2020 and all have had some sort of paranormal experience. There have been numerous EVP's during investigations, one even recorded. We had one investigator capture an image of a woman looking out the window of one of our guest rooms. We have been told by mediums that the spirits of the house are watching over the home, property, and guests protecting them. This is further correlated by the feeling of peace and happiness people feel when they come to visit the home.
