The Exorcist House in Bel-Nor Missouri is where the haunting real life story behind William Peter Blatty’s novel “the Exorcist” took place. Legend tells that a thirteen year old boy who came to the St. Louis area in 1949 because of illness. Jesuit priests from St. Louis University were called in and determined that the boy was possessed by the devil. In real life, the boy moved from the home to the rectory, and finally to the hospital. The exorcism itself was said to have been a month long process. This iconic location is thought to be very haunted. The Travel Channel’s Ghost Adventures show was brought in to investigate for ghostly activity for their landmark 100th episode. The idea was to dig deeper into the home itself and find more clues about possessions and the exorcisms that follow.
