History
New Orleans, LA is home to one of the most haunted places in the state, Beauregard-Keyes House. Come Explore its mystery with Haunted Journeys.

The Beauregard-Keyes House, located in New Orleans, Louisiana is known to be very haunted and rich in ghostly activity. This structure was built in 1826, and gets its name from its two most famous occupants. General Beauregard and his family lived in the home from 1866 to 1868. Author Frances Parkinson Keyes used the home as her winter residence for 25 years, where she wrote many of her books. The home is said to have some of New Orleans most spectacular hauntings in the early morning hours. A supernatural version of the Battle of Shiloh is said to play out in the home’s main hall. It was written that visions of men with mangled limbs from battle swirl in a “confused dance of death”. The aromas of war, such as blood bodily decay permeate the area. Even horses and mules who have been slaughtered add to these gruesome visions and olfactory senses. In addition, it is well known that this house was the site of a gruesome mafia murder. The hauntings from this event are also prominently highlighted in the paranormal history.
