Ball’s Bluff Battlefield Regional Park was the site of one of the largest Civil War engagement in Loudoun County, Virginia. The conflict fought on October 21, 1861, was as part of Union Maj. Gen. George B. McClellan’s operations in Northern Virginia. The small cemetery in the park has 25 graves; the identity of all of the interred except for one, James Allen of the 15th Massachusetts, is unknown.
Multiple visitors have reported apparitions of soldiers in uniform over the years.
