History

Anchorage, AK is home to one of the most haunted places in the state, Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery. Come explore its mystery with Haunted Journeys.

The History

The Anchorage Memorial Park, founded in by Woodrow Wilson in 1915, was a place to bury the ever-increasing number of corpses that the Alaskan growing population was enduring, making this cemetery the oldest cemetery in Anchorage.

The Hauntings

It is said to be haunted by several ghosts, including Mrs. Tone. When alive, she was a housewife who was murdered by her husband. Her ghost rises each night to stomp on the grave of the man who killed her. There are other unknown voices reported to be heard while wandering the cemetery.

In 2002, a curious explorer took a photo at the cemetery. While doing so he heard a woman scream, making him run away from the scene. He did not realize what he had captured until he saw the image he captured. See it below posted in the gallery!
