Tombstone AZ is home to one of the most haunted places in the state, Boothill Graveyard. Come explore its mystery with Haunted Journeys.

Originally called "Tombstone Cemetery," Boothill Graveyard introduced in Tombstone Arizona in 1879. Most of its 250 occupants were laid to rest after suffering violent or unexpected deaths. Most died with their boots on, which inspired the locals to name this cemetery Boothill. They are buried next to housewives, businessmen, miners, gamblers, ladies of the "red-light district."
By the 1920s, Boothill had fallen into ruin with many grave markers lost or unreadable. A group of locals began the task of identifying the occupants and marking the graves properly. The job took several years and resulted in the graveyard being restored much as it was in the early years.

Some people believe that ghosts are spirits of people that died unexpectedly, violently, at the hands of others, gunfights and even hangings. Many here include those that were killed in the famous shootout at the OK Corral.
