Billop House has a long history, starting in 1676 British Navy Captain Christopher Billop was given this piece of land. By 1680, Capt. Billop had built the original two story stone house, naming it "The Conference House". Additions to the house followed through 1720. It's history is very impressive, that included many notable including Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and Edward Rutledge met with British Lord Admiral Richard Howe, where they used the property to negotiate peace that would give the colonies independence from England.
There is a known death servant girl, who was accused of spying on Billop for the colonists during the Revolutionary War. It is said her ghost, Billop's ghost and the ghosts of British Redcoats still haunt the property today. It was featured on Haunted History and Most Haunted.
