Rochester, NY is home to one of the most haunted places in the state, Rochester Main Street Armory. Come Explore its mystery with Haunted Journeys.
The Main Street Armory was built in 1905 as headquarters for western New York’s 3rd Battalion. The National Guard has been and, to an extent, still is the backbone of the American military system since the colonial era. The Main Street Armory, like virtually all other National Guard armories, remains a prominent visual reminder and monument of the pivotal role played by the volunteer militia in American military history. Since the mid-2000s, it has been a concert and event venue.
The Rochester Main Street Armory is now known for having pretty intense ghostly activity. After many years of disrepair, restoration efforts have caused an increase in paranormal activity.
Many people report full-bodied apparitions and moving objects. In the basement, people have been grabbed and poked. In an empty wing, a baby carriage moves around the room by itself. Disembodied footsteps are heard, while locker doors move as well. The people who are most familiar with the entity haunting the armory, refer to him as Ghost Boy.
It has been featured on the Sci-Fi channel’s Ghost Hunters. Today, the property offers private investigations. In addition, it offers a haunted house with spook factors intensified during the Halloween Season.
