History
Calgary, AB is home to one of the most haunted places in the state, Heritage Park. Come Explore its mystery with Haunted Journeys. Heritage Park is a town that was built to remember the old times and its historic impact to the area. One of the most haunted is the Wainwright Hotel, today a living historical replica sits now in Heritage Park. Back in 1907, Martin Luther Forster built the original hotel in the hamlet of Denwood, Alberta. When the hotel burned down to the ground in 1929, the Heritage Park's replica was built in 1968 using photographs of the original hotel and firsthand accounts by the townsfolk. The replica of the Wainwright Hotel still holds the energy from what it replaced. Apparitions, disembodied voices and items being moved around are common to all. Another property that is very haunted within Heritage Park is Midnapore Station. The station is the standard A-2 replica design of the Canadian Pacific Railway built at 193 locations west of Kenora, Ontario. During its heyday, the one and only agent employed at the Midnapore Station was Mr. Herbert Cronk. Since the Heritage Park train still rumbles by, Mr. Cronk, it seems, feels duty bound to remain at his post. Many are animate that there is a ghost in Midnapore Station. The stories go back twenty or thirty years. Artifacts, files and keys disappear. Mysteriously, these items all appear to reappears in the very same places they were explored to find! Being at Heritage Park, everyone claims to get a weird, especially in two of their houses. But don't let that fool you! Every old building has a story and the energy that is left behind in some form.
